Nigel Gault is Group Managing Director of the North American Macroeconomics Service of Global Insight. He possesses more than 20 years of experience in economic modeling, forecasting, and analysis gained on both sides of the Atlantic. In his present role, he oversees Global Insight's macroeconomic forecast and analysis of the US and Canadian economies. He is also responsible for macroeconomic modeling, including maintaining Global Insight's large-scale model of the US economy and developing the forthcoming 15-country Global Scenario Model.
Before joining Global Insight in 2003, Gault worked for six years as a senior global economist at Decision Economics Inc., providing international clients in financial markets with analysis of the major industrial economies, initially from London and later from Boston. Prior to that, Gault served for seven years as chief European economist for DRI/McGraw-Hill (a predecessor company of Global Insight), based in London. This followed seven years as a senior economist in DRI/McGraw-Hill's US Economic Service in Lexington, MA.
Gault holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University and an MA in Economics from Cambridge University in England.
