Global Insight // Bringing You the Power of Perspective

How will this emerging "methane gap" be resolved over and beyond the coming 10 years?

To address this question, Global Insight is working with leaders from gas supply producers and pipelines, storage operators and distribution companies, industrial gas consumers, federal and state governments, and financial institutions. This broad-based group of participants will help define multiple scenarios for the U.S. gas outlook, focusing on such topics as accelerated decline of conventional supplies and tightening environmental regulations, LNG development, the Alaskan pipeline, opening of restricted drilling areas, and non-conventional gas.

Major scenarios to be addressed by the study include:
  • How long drilling in conventional and non-conventional reserves can offset production declines
  • Industrial and power generation sector responses
  • Climate change and environmental constraint implications

Study participants are being sought who will play an active role in helping define these scenarios, ensuring they capture the real-world uncertainties, technology advancements, and risks.

Key Deliverables:
  • Final report of analysis results
  • CD-ROM with study data
  • Optional on-site study presentation
  • Optional customization to specific market geography and sector or industrial composition
  • Subscriber workshop
