The Benchmark for Viewing MSCI's
Equity Index Data
MSCI Index Monitor is an easy-to-use software application that allows you to quickly and efficiently navigate, analyze, and download MSCI's global equity index data. With the MSCI Index Monitor, you can view and download MSCI index levels, weights, returns, and index-constituent data quickly and intiitively.
VIEWING INDICES, SECURITIES, AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
MSCI Index Monitor has three primary views:
- Indices: all index levels, returns, and country weights
- Securities: all securities data, including market caps, constituent weights, and adjustment factors
- Announcements: all corporate actions and events, as well as any other communication by MSCI
INDICES
- Navigate all MSCI regional and country indices
- Select the indices you would like to analyze further
- Select the attributes (metadata) and concepts (calculations) you would like to include in your search
- Preview the data in a separate screen
- Download the data into Microsoft® Excel®
SECURITIES
- Search either the Index Constituents or MSCI's Research Universe
- Choose either Regions and Countries and/or Industry and Styles
- In Download Options, select the attributes and concepts you would like to include in your search
- Preview the data or download directly into Microsoft® Excel®
- View pro-forma weights to see how weights will change after an index rebalancing announcement, but prior to its implementation
ANNOUNCEMENTS
- Determine the date range, status, and type of corporate events or other MSCI announcements you would like to view
- Choose Regions and Countries and/or Industry and Styles as your search method
- Select attributes such as event information, market cap factors, and security identifiers, both before and after the event
- Download all data relevant to the corporate event into Microsoft® Excel®
- View all MSCI announcements, including any PDF attachments
EASY INSTALL AND UPDATING
MSCI Index Monitor offers the option of a ClickOnce install. ClickOnce also allows users to receive automated updates of bug fixes and enhancements to the application as soon as they become available.

MSCI Index Monitor is a C#/.NET application that requires the following software:
