World Trade Service

The updated World Trade Service provides the most comprehensive view of international trading markets and commodities in the world, helping clients make the right strategic decisions. Each quarter, the service delivers detailed commodity forecasts by shipment mode. This database contains comprehensive current and projected measurements of bilateral trade between countries by commodity, value, volume, and mode of transport. Clients also receive the quarterly publication Trends in Global Economy and Trade, which provides a detailed view of the economic and tactical issues driving our trade forecasts.

We provide clients with quarterly forecasts of annual trade movements:
  • By trade mode including:
    • Ocean Container (TEUs, tons, numbers of 20 ft and 40 ft)
    • Ocean Bulk (Liquid, Dry)
    • Ocean General Cargo/NeoBulk
    • Air Cargo
    • Overland/Other (e.g. Pipelines)
  • Among 77 commodity groups
  • For 54 countries and 16 regions
Access data via our Navigator software, designed for selecting, analyzing, charting, mapping, and downloading data.

Our data is enhanced by the Trends in the World Economy and Trade report. This publication provides an overview of international events and economic assumptions shaping the global commerce & transport outlook. It features ocean container and bulk shipping analysis, and leverages our partnership with Lloyd's Register-Fairplay Research to analyze the world vessel fleet outlook.
